Spirituality

Let me get straight to the point. I am not a regular mass attendee (even before pandemic) so some may say that I’m not the best person to talk about this topic. Yes, I agree but I believe that each of us has a unique relationship with our God, Lord, Jesus Christ, Father Almighty, Allah, Creator….. And I want to share what is mine.

To those who need to go to church to pray, I completely understand the solemnity it brings. In fact, I feel the same whenever I am inside the house of prayer. So yup, I talk to Him ☝️ too. Not just before sleeping but more after opening my eyes in the morning. I really thank the Man above for giving me another day. Sadly, others were not able to make it. And it does not stop there. I talk to Him any time of the day… Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing. He is my diary, confidant, my everything. He’s my number one. It sometimes crosses my mind if I’m already disrespecting Him with the way I pray, but I take comfort in Pope Francis’ words. I do not want to quote him but he wants to convey that we don’t have to be too formal with God even in prayer. So I guess I’m not committing a sin even if I’m being casual. What matters is, it is from the heart. And actually with or without words, He knows what’s inside us.

I want to end this topic by saying that I’m truly grateful to God, for being always here. I would not survive everything I’ve gone through in life if not for Him! 🙏

Trust.

Need I say more? Majority, if not all, will agree that once it’s broken it will never be the same again. Also, who would forget how Sarah Geronimo as Laida Magtalas delivered that….. “Wow, big word!” So why am I even writing this?

Trust, for me, is a strong belief in an individual’s abilities…….

Ability to do things, to go for it. When someone says ‘I trust you’, the person is pretty sure that you really can and you will actually do whatever it is that you want to accomplish.

Ability to ensure confidentiality. When someone says ‘I trust you’, the person knows that whatever happens you’ll keep what the two of you have talked about in private.

Ability to take good care, to protect. When someone says ‘I trust you’, the person knows that… you will look out for him (her) all the time, you always got his/her back no matter what.

Hence, I completely agree with Sarah as Laida that trust is a big word. Just like respect, you have to earn it. Not everyone is worth trusting so when someone gives you his, fully appreciate its value. Don’t break it.

Growth.

Guess among all the rainbow colors, I find this the most difficult one to write. The word sounds deep and so serious for me. Like, how does a person grow? See what I mean?

Contemplating, it is not that as intense as it may seem. Growing is developing. So the lighter question is, how can an individual become better? And there are many ways for this. It does not always have to be massive, baby step is already considered as an improvement. Acknowledge that, do not be too hard on yourself. Regardless of the result, the mere fact that you are trying actually has a bearing. Taking a leap of faith isn’t that easy so having the courage to do things, counts. Things that you like, more for the things that you’re afraid of. Because in life it’s not always riding the tide, sometimes it’s not bad going the opposite direction. Don’t box yourself in, expand horizons. You might be surprised where it will take you.

I repeat, there are a lot of ways to achieve the development you want for yourself. Keep on improving.

Passion, encouragement and optimism (see previous blog entries) contribute to one’s growth. So to answer the question, how… Just don’t close doors.

Optimism.

It takes more than thirty muscles to frown and only less than twenty to smile.

This has been sidelined for more than a year because I prioritized other form of writing.

Now with this pandemic and all, how can we still be optimistic?

Past few months have been difficult, in all aspects of our well being. Waking up every single day is kinda scary ’cause we do not know what awaits us. Cliche as it may sound but these are true… ‘there’s a rainbow after the rain, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.’ AND! Let me share with you part of a post that I read. When I saw this, it made me pause.

“After every ‘hindi ko na yata kaya’ night, comes a ‘tara laban pa’ morning.”

You see? Even if we are in the ‘dark days’, there is still positivity in this individual. And we can start from there, drawing energy from others… Until the time comes that we develop in ourselves, to be positive. 😌

Encouragement.

One simple word that could lead to countless (great) possibilities.

The world is already full of critics so instead of being an addition, let us be on the other side.

Yes, I am encouraging you to be an encourager!

I know some do not care at all I mean for them, “let us just live our own lives”. OKay I understand you but to some who are just shy because maybe they are thinking “baka sabihin nakikialam ako”, oh please don’t be.

I bet people will not take it against you in fact, maybe that is just what they have been waiting for and need to hear… Especially to those who are struggling.

You never know how your words could mean so much to them. You do not need decorated sentences, simple phrases would already be of great help.

So what are you waiting for? If you could be that someone who could give people ‘the push’, then do it… Now!

Passion.

I usually hear the question “what is your passion?” but when I was asked this, found it difficult to answer.

It got me thinking because for me it is a big word, not just ‘what you want’. There is something more and deeper than that.

  • excites you
  • fuels you
  • fills you
  • overflows you
  • continually inspires you
  • gets your blood racing
  • makes you feel alive

It…

  • always creeps back
  • never dies
  • is the oxygen of the soul

I truly admire passionate people, there is a burning flame 🔥 inside them! Aside from their actions, you can really see it in their eyes 👀 !

Now, do you know what’s your passion? Remember, it’s a strong desire that makes you happy!

Learnings

If you read the Exception, you now know that I’m supporting a certain ship.

There are a lot of things I wasn’t expecting being here. Don’t wanna sound judgmental but lemme just be honest. Besides, tables have turned the way I see things.

Before, I find ‘fans’ OA. I mean, the things they do for their ‘idols’. How could you be that invested to people you don’t personally know? I think ‘fans’ as people who don’t do anything in their lives except for “worshipping” their ‘idols’ and fight anyone who don’t agree with them.

And now being in this ship, I’m amazed… That even professionals can be shippers too, that yes you can defend your ship through healthy discussions.

I like how my fellow shippers… exchange opinions on certain topics, develop friendships, support each other and a lot more.

Yeah, time to flex them ’cause their braincells are blessings and I’m not kidding you. They’re deep and witty at the same time. They’ll pierce both your mind (thought-provoking) and tummy (wit / humor) with their stories. Heart’s a given. One of the reasons why I enjoy here, the reader and the ‘writer’ in me is so alive in this nation. They’re good, they’re talented. ✨

And the ship itself, gosh! I’m a tough person but I’ve learned to be stronger ’cause of this. Learned to… Hold on, appreciate little things, not to dwell on being hurt, brush-off issues, and more importantly to just believe.

Believe in the magic of love.

Believe in the goodness of people.

Believe in the timing of God.

Believe eventhough it seems hopeless.

BELIEVE!! So I’m still here, patuloy na naniniwala… 🙏
